DR MASHAMBA MASHUMBA

Dr Mashudu Mashamba is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Medunsa and is involved in both clinical dentistry and academic teaching within the field of Oral Medicine and Periodontology.

Her professional interests include the diagnosis and management of periodontal and oral diseases, with an interest in the links between oral health and systemic health. She has contributed to published clinical research in the field, including work relating to oral lesions and disease management.

Dr Mashamba is committed to advancing oral health through clinical practice, education and evidence-based care, with a particular interest in the importance of periodontal health and its wider implications for patients’ overall health.
